- Can you really make a timelapse from a single photo?
- Yes. A traditional timelapse stitches hundreds of frames shot over hours. Timelapse Studio generates the motion and time-of-day progression from one still — adding camera movement and changing light so a single photo becomes a moving clip.
- Do I need a tripod?
- No. A tripod matters when you are shooting hundreds of frames over an hour and every one has to line up. Here there is only one frame, already taken, so there is nothing to keep steady. The camera movement is generated rather than filmed.
- What kind of photo works best?
- A sharp, well-lit photo with a clear subject and some depth — a landscape, skyline, building or street scene with a horizon. Foreground and background give the camera move room to breathe.
- Can I make a day to night timelapse?
- Yes, and it is what the hours setting controls. Shooting a day-to-night timelapse for real means ramping exposure as the light drops, which is the hardest part of the format. Here you set how many hours should pass, from 1 to 12, and the light progression is generated with the clip.
- What does the hours setting actually change?
- How far the light travels across the clip. One hour reads as a gentle shift in shadows; twelve carries the scene through a full change in the sky. The clip stays the same length either way — the hours describe the time being compressed, not the runtime.
- Which camera move should I pick?
- Push in for a scene with a clear subject to arrive at, pan or truck for a wide landscape you want to travel across, pedestal or tilt to reveal height in a building or skyline. You can stack up to three, and opposing moves cancel each other out so you cannot pan left and right at once.
- How long does it take?
- About a couple of minutes. Upload, pick a camera move and how many hours should pass, and the MP4 lands in your gallery.
