Quick answer
Starrd has two Nicole Kidman Dance templates for the viral 'ADÉLA' dance challenge. The solo takes one photo of you or your pet and copies the routine move for move: hands rising overhead, a hand through the hair, hip pops, hands to the chest with a lip bite, shoulder rolls, a turn with a look back over the shoulder, and a step closer to finish with a hand on the hip. The duo takes exactly two photos (photo 1 on the left, photo 2 on the right) and copies the two-friends version: bounces, arms overhead, chest waves, kick steps, arms up in a V and a spin. Both dance in the place from your (first) photo, look straight into the camera, play the ADÉLA audio, and run 13 seconds vertical 9:16 on Seedance 2.5 for 100 credits (about $5) each.
The same dance, any subject — tap one to make it with your photo.
One photo in, and out comes you doing the viral Nicole Kidman dance to "ADÉLA", right in your own living room. Two photos, and it's you and your bestie side by side. Here's the solo, made from one photo:
Nicole Kidman Dance
One photo. You or your pet doing the viral 'ADÉLA' dance where your photo was taken. 13 seconds, vertical.
And here's the duo, made from two photos of pets:
Nicole Kidman Dance (Duo)
Two photos. You and a friend (or two pets) doing the two-person 'ADÉLA' dance side by side. 13 seconds, vertical.
What You Get
- The routine, move for move. Copied from the original clip, timing and all.
- Your place. You dance in the room or spot from your photo, not a generic studio.
- Eyes on the camera. Every dancer looks straight into the lens the whole way through.
- The ADÉLA audio, so every move lands on the beat.
- 13 seconds, vertical 9:16, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
What the Trend Actually Is
The Nicole Kidman dance is a TikTok dance challenge set to "ADÉLA", tagged #nicolekidman, #adela and #dancechallenge. It spread in two shapes:
- Solo: one dancer, one camera, all attitude. The clip we copied was filmed by @katherinehuang on a subway platform.
- Duo: two friends dancing side by side. Ours is from @ellsandbells1, filmed in a red room, with 459k plays.
Why it suits AI: the solo is all confidence, which is hard to fake on camera, and the duo needs a friend who'll actually learn it. One or two photos skips both problems. Or hand the routine to your pets.
Solo: the Moves
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| Opening | A hand at the side of the head |
| ~2s | Arms rise to meet overhead |
| A hand through the hair, then hip pops | |
| ~8s | Hands to the chest with a lip bite |
| Shoulder rolls | |
| ~11s | A turn with a look back over the shoulder |
| Finish | Steps closer, hand on the hip |
The camera sits level at chest height, straight on, framing you from head to knees, with a soft 85mm-style blurred background.
Duo: the Moves
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| Opening | Loose bounces |
| ~2s | Arms thrown overhead |
| Chest waves, hands on hips, kick steps forward | |
| ~9s | Hands on top of the head |
| ~10s | Arms up in a V |
| ~12s | The left dancer spins |
The camera sits level at waist height with both dancers in full body and a natural depth of field.
Who goes where: photo 1 dances on the left (and does the spin), photo 2 on the right. The setting comes from photo 1.
Pets Welcome
- On two legs. Pets dance upright on their hind legs, like the rest of the crew.
- Real paws. Every wave and hand-on-hip is a real paw, never a human hand.
- Mix and match. In the duo, pair yourself with your dog, or two pets together. Our demo is a grey tabby and a red doodle puppy.
Your Look, Your Place
- Your own clothes. People dance in what they're wearing in their photo. Only lingerie, sleepwear or swimwear gets swapped for a plain outfit.
- Your own hair. Hair length stays as it is in your photo.
- Your setting. The dance happens where your photo was taken. No usable background? You get a dark dance studio.
- Want something else? Director's Notes can change the outfit or the place.
Pick your photo (photo 1 for the duo) for its background as well as its face: that's where you'll dance. A clear, well-lit room makes the best stage.
The Fastest Way
Nicole Kidman Dance
One photo, the full 13-second solo routine with the ADÉLA audio. People and pets.
Nicole Kidman Dance (Duo)
Two photos, left and right, the full 13-second duo routine with the ADÉLA audio. People and pets.
One photo (solo) or two (duo), 100 credits each (about $5), no prompt. Both render on Seedance 2.5 at 480p, vertical 9:16.
Build It Yourself
1. Turn the dance into a depth map. Take the 13 seconds you want and run them through a depth-estimation model (Depth Anything V2 works). The depth video carries the motion and the timing only, so the original dancers' faces, outfits and room can't leak into your video.
2. Make a character sheet for each subject. From each photo, generate a sheet with a front, three-quarter, back and close-up view. The back view matters here: the solo has a turn and the duo has a spin, and without it the model guesses what the back of you looks like.
3. Make one still in your place. One subject (or two side by side) in their own clothes, standing in the photo's surroundings, looking into the camera.
A photorealistic vertical still of two dancers standing side by side, full body, looking straight into the camera, shot level at waist height with a natural depth of field. On the left the subject from reference photo 1, on the right the subject from reference photo 2, each in their own clothes with their own hair length. The setting is the place behind the subject in reference photo 1. No text.
4. Drive it with the depth map. Feed the still, the character sheets and the depth video to a model that copies motion from a reference video (we recommend Seedance 2.5). Say the still decides everything you can see and the depth video decides only the choreography and the timing. Say every dancer looks into the camera, and that pets stand upright with real paws. Lay the ADÉLA audio back on at the end.
Common Mistakes
Driving with the raw clip. The original dancers' faces and outfits come through. Use the depth map.
No back view. The turn and the spin show the back of the subject. Without a character sheet, the back is invented and the likeness slips.
Swapping the duo photos. Photo 1 is the left dancer, the spinner, and the setting. Put the photo with the background you want first.
Human hands on pets. Say "real paws" or the model gives your dog hands on the hip move.
